FIT DEVELOPMENT
FROM MARKET REFERENCE TO OUR FIT DEVELOPMENT
This silhouette has been one of the most commercially successful and consistent denim styles in the market over the past few seasons.
I used this proven fit direction as a foundation and developed our own versions by refining proportions, construction, and fabric choices to fit our brand’s direction.
FINAL DESIGN DIRECTION
MARKET RESEARCH
Based on research and fit testing, I developed a refined essential tee that balances comfort, versatility, and commercial appeal.
Fabric selection, neckline construction, and proportion adjustments were intentionally developed to enhance wearability while maintaining a modern everyday aesthetic.
In-depth market research was conducted on core tee silhouettes across contemporary and commercial brands, focusing on best-selling fits, fabric compositions, wash treatments, and price positioning.
Special attention was given to proportion balance, neckline construction, sleeve length, and fabric hand feel to identify commercially successful elements.
The insights gathered directly informed fit development, fabric selection, and overall product strategy for this project.
FABRIC DEVELOPMENT
PROCESS
Fabric development was carried out through close communication with mills and factories throughout the process. Multiple jersey fabric options were developed and reviewed to achieve the target weight suitable for summer wear. Each fabric was carefully evaluated for hand feel, stretch, cost, color options, and overall quality to ensure it aligned with the desired fit and product direction.
Fabrics were finalized through close collaboration with mills and factories, reviewing multiple jersey options to achieve the desired weight and performance for summer wear. Color options were developed and evaluated through lab dips, with careful consideration of tone consistency, cost, and overall fabric quality. Final selections were organized to support a cohesive and commercially viable T-shirt assortment.
Finalized fabrics were cut into swatches and continuously updated into CAD layouts, with detailed documentation including pricing, factory information, fabric content, and washing methods for development and reference
